My skin tone is very yellow/olive. I have dark eyes. My natural hair color is black but I would like a change. I used to get highlights but I sometimes find that the light golden tones make me look bland. What is a good color or highlight choice for me?I am hispanic with very olive toned skin and dark eyes. I would like a new hair color but which one?
wow - that is a tough one. unfortunately, olive toned skin and black hair is not a good combination for hair color and/or highlights. your beautiful natural color is the best shade for your skin. i wish i had inherited my mother's black hair to go with my olive skin - it is such a striking combination.
if you absolutely must get a highlight color, try a cool tone blond (think ash) but keep in mind that the cool tones tend to look very similar to grey. you could just try a color wash, which would be semi-permanent to temporary %26amp; wash out after 6-8 weeks, but again make sure you choose a color from the cool tones (i.e. with a lot of blue or green undertones instead of yellow or gold undertones). A good color stylist will be your best helper in choosing the right tone for your skin. and if you actually color or lighten your hair, remember to do your eyebrows as well, because light brown/blond hair with black eyebrows is not a good look.I am hispanic with very olive toned skin and dark eyes. I have the same color skin and eyes and once I got a shade lighter than medium brown and that looked pretty good. I have also had hints of red put into my hair and that turned out nice too. I just don't think it looks that great when people stray to far form their natural color. We are so lucky to have such great hair, skin, and eyes in the 1st place. Why should we change it?!
Well im mexican to and i really good color is a light auburn color cuz it will make ur skin tone stand out more.
I have the same complection you do for what it sounds. I worked for many year in a hair salon as a receptionist so my boss would make me his'; Show model '; so he said LOL . he tried all Sooo many colors on me that apart form my black hair the only one that did not look fake and went really nice with my skin and eyes was a caramel color with golden highlights(not blonde or yellowish (Yuck Trust me I have been blonde YUCK!!! it did to suit me well at all) Anyway if you want a drastic change without looking fake I would suggest browns and goldens try looking at pictures of Eva Longoria, Eva mendes, Jennifer Lopez Well good luck I hope you end up looking beautiful!!!
i think you should keep with in your natural hair color range (natural black or blue black). you can always get a gloss treatment with makes it look oh-so-shiny or new cut... once you bleach your hair it will never be the same. all those celebs use fake hair and have professions to help them. don't try to copy them.
dark dark purple. why not?
i think black is the best...but for highlights... something red?
When you have that colour complexion, dark hair looks so gorgeous..just get a flattering cut instead. Highlights on dark hair never look natural, and light hair on dark complexion never really looks all that good either.. stick with your natural beauty!!
Dark Brown.
Try Dark Brown with Carmel and Auburn red highlights.
or dark brown with blonde highlights.
Mix and match.
hope this helpss.

Dark brown is a very good color for you, but it will only make a small difference since you have black hair.
If you want a color that is totally different a really light brown would look good with your skin tone and eyes.

My best friend has similar features. She has a dark chestnut color which looks nice. Another friend maintained black as her base color and added red highlights.
CARMEL! my sister has the same skin tone and has dark eyes too. she was born with black hair, but she highlights it a deep carmel color. the lighter brown and carmel tones will really lighten up your face and your eyes will pop!
auburn red hi-lites would look beautiful!
brown with blond highlights
Not sure, but remember that anything you do to your hair (other than a henna stain) is going to cause it damage that will make it less manageable/healthy. If you must mess with it, see if you can get something that uses no bleach/heat, and leave it soft and smooth if you want to be happiest with it.
